Just when you thought anglers had figured out every possible use for foam drink coolers or “koozies” here’s another one. The packs of hard spools of leader material come in flimsy cardboard packages that don’t hold up well they get wet and fall apart. But the leader spools fit snugly inside a koozie. I use a paper clip to punch small holes in its side, and pull the leader material through the holes as I stack the spools inside, using a rigging needle. I then label each leader hole with an indelible pen. The koozie holds the spools snug, keeps the leader from unraveling and is easy to store and use.
