Just when you thought anglers had figured out every possible use for foam drink coolers — or “koozies” — here’s another one. The packs of hard spools of leader material come in flimsy cardboard packages that don’t hold up well — they get wet and fall apart. But the leader spools fit snugly inside a koozie. I use a paper clip to punch small holes in its side, and pull the leader material through the holes as I stack the spools inside, using a rigging needle. I then label each leader hole with an indelible pen. The koozie holds the spools snug, keeps the leader from unraveling and is easy to store and use.
