Q: What is your favorite fish to catch and what is the best fly for it?

A: I would rather fish for bonefish than any other species, and most of the widely experienced saltwater fly-fishermen I’ve known feel the same way – even though a tarpon is certainly an exciting adversary. If I were limited to a single fly pattern for bonefish anywhere in the world, I would select a crab pattern. However, I’d want a shrimp imitation, too.
