Blockhead

sc_tip_165x226.jpg

Transferring a frozen block of menhaden chum into a round bucket can be a sloppy job. An easy way to avoid the mess is to thaw the block slightly. This does two things: First, the chum is still frozen enough that I can insert a dog-chain anchor-the type that resembles a large corkscrew-into the block for a lifting device. Second, thawing the chum makes for a clean transfer because the block takes the shape of the bucket as it is shoved inside.
