Bimini Loses a Legend

Friends remember Don Smith's caribbean charm.

|| |—| || |Photo: Courtesy of The Bimini Big Game Fishing Club| Donald “Don” Smith, the dock master at the Bimini Big Game Fishing Club for more than 30 years, died December 19 after Chalk’s Ocean Airways Flight 101 crashed off Miami Beach. Friends say a jubilant personality was Smith’s trademark. “Don was a gift to everyone he met,” said frequent Bimini visitor Richard Delizza of Pembroke Pines, Florida. Smith is survived by his wife Maureen, their four children and nine grandchildren. Donations should be made payable to “Bimini Flight 101 Victims Fund” and sent to:
