This year Abel introduced an all aluminum version of their well-known Supreme vise. It’s the same desktop design as the Supreme, but made of 6061 aircraft aluminum with a stainless steel shaft. It’s a true rotary vise, enabling the tier to dress the fly from every angle. The vise has a built-in CenterLine Gauge that helps you instantly align your hook and the jaws themselves are stainless steel and hold hooks sizes #28 to 12/0.

Abel machines the jaws without a groove to hold a hook because this can damage both the plating and the integrity of the hook. The vise also features functional machined-in holes for drying flies and it comes with a brass base milled with shallow pockets to hold hooks, eyes, materials and small tools. It also has an easy-to-use bobbin holder. There are four 1/2-inch rubber feet for stability and it comes in a compact, fully padded Cordura Nylon case for storage or carrying.

The vise is available in anodized black, platinum or gold anodized finishes or it can be ordered in any artistic anodized colors for an additional charge. The aluminum vise retails for $450. For more information, visit www.abelreels.com.
