Hot & Cold Good & Bad

Inconsistency on the flats make it frustrating for guide and angler

Things have been hot & cold good & bad lately. Was up to Port Mansfield last Wed. pre-fishing for some upcoming trips there. Fishing was awesome for reds, huge black drum, ladyfish, sheepshead in about of 15″ of water fairly close to the pass. As fate would have it, very violent am storms hit both Sat. & Sun. and put the fish on alert. Found tons of tails for about three hours on Sat. but they would pop up for a bite or two and then poof they were gone never to be seen again. Very frustrating for guide and anglers. However there have been some awesome snook caught lately at the East Cut, Arroyo Colorado, and down by Port Isabel. Here is a picture of a 12 lber. caught in the Arroyo Colorado lately.
