Spring is finally here, and the Stripers are awake and humgry, we fished a cool 42* day with light winds but the promiss of fish on our minds. Fishing started slow but warmed up with rising temperatures. We fished 7 and 8 weight rods with sinking and shooting heads using jiggies and clouser’s fished deep and ever so slowly. We caught fish from 16″ to 24″ on white and chartreuse and white, great season opener. Bly the beginning of May there will be fish in the Sound and the Thames will give up day of 50 plus stripers up to 38″.
