I recall two reportings of massive dolphin. One was faught on 130# takle for over an hour in the Bahamas and a giant tiger shark took most of it at the boat. The head from the pectoral fins forward was recovered and weighed about 45 lbs.
The second was a more recent reporting of a dolphin caught by two individuals in the Pacific (Mexico I believe) that weighed about 135 lbs. They weighed it on the boat and the mate said it weighed 60. They had it cleaned before they found out he weighed it in kilograms. I thinkg there was an article in one of the fishing magazines about it.
red snapper are over populating the northern gulf for sure. we have 20 lb. snapper on our chicken cage reefs.. need to allow 2 snapper per person at least 6 to 8 months / year, just to balance the fishery... I have grand kids we want to pass on a sustainable fishery... thanks
