Omie Tillet's Sportsman. This boat is the one that started the signature Carolina look. Without it many on the list wouldn't be there I.e. Spencer, Scarborough, Paul Mann, and Buddy Davis. He did as much for sport fishing boats as Rybovitch did I'm my opinion.
The story is lacking detail... I don't think anyone would contest the commercial industry takes signficantly more "fin fish". The commercial industry uses methods of catching which include trawl nets (that recreational fishermen don't use) to catch huge volumes of fish (that recreational fishermen don't want). When we over generalize to make an argument valid we actually run the risk of weakening our overall argument.
We need more information on specific species of fish that fisherman do want versus the commercial quotas on those same fish. There is no doubt that recreational fishing is signficantly more valuable to society from a economic standpoint and that is an extremely valid argument in the distribution of fishing limits.
