Reader Tips: Tackle Box Tangle Tamer

Cut a drinking straw into half-inch pieces, then coil up a leader, pinch the sides together and slide the flattened coil line into a straw

Here’s an inexpensive solution to tangles in your tackle box. Instead of coiling and wrapping the leaders that remain attached to lures, try this: Cut a drinking straw into half-inch pieces, then coil up a leader, pinch the sides together and slide the flattened coil line into a straw. Now the leader will not uncoil, and it fits into the slot of the tackle box neatly. When you want to use the lure or rig, just pull the loop and slide off the straw.
