I originally designed this clamp light to clip on the visor of my police cruiser but found it works great when I’m fishing on my boat at night. It consists of a small spring clamp, a nine-LED flashlight, two half-inch screws, two washers, an angle bracket, two nylon locknuts and a stainless hose clamp. Drill a hole in the spring-clamp handle, and fasten the angle bracket to it with one screw, washer and locknut. Then drill a hole in the hose clamp, and fasten it to the upright arm of the angle bracket with the other screw and nut set. Insert the flashlight in the hose clamp, and tighten it down. The total cost of the clamp, other items and batteries is less than $7.25. The clamp is strong enough to withstand most bumps from waves and swells, and it can be clamped to bow rails, steering wheels, fishing rods, center console windshields, leaning posts or any object 11/4 inch or smaller. It works best when you’re trying to tie knots, remove hooks or read charts, and the angle bracket allows it to turn 360 degrees in almost any direction.
