Potential Record at Tropic Star

The 252.8-pound fish was caught August 23

Angler Gary Carter, fishing with Captain Yoan Alcala, Wireman Yefri Garcia and Gaffman Geiner Cortez brought this potential 6# line class world-record Pacific blue marlin into Tropic Star lodge in Panama on August 23. The fish was landed using a Bill Buckland rod and Shimano Tiagra reel loaded with Momoi line. The fish weighed in at 252.8 pounds.

If it stands, this fish will shatter the current 6# record, set by a 169-pound, 8-ounce blue caught by Enrico Capozzi on April 4, 2001 in Costa Rica.
