Quepos Fishing Report August 2010

Marlin, Sailfish and so many Amberjacks!

Fishing here in Quepos remains great though the green season. Lots of anglers taking advantage of the low pricing for spectacular fishing. August 7 clients headed offshore on 2 boats, the first returning with a 600+ lb. black Marlin on for a fight, the release of 2 Sailfish and a Yellowfin Tuna which provided shashimi for dinner, the second boat returned with the release of 2 Sailfish. Clients fishing to the North just 18 miles on August 4 releasing 8 Sails for the day and a 50+ lb. Dorado. Stephen Pociask fishing offshore on the 3rd of August released 2 Sailfish and 11 Amberjacks providing lots of fishing action. Ben Hutson fishing on the first of August releasing 2 Sailfish offshore and had 13 Amberjacks. The boys had a great day today.
July 28th while most of the fleet had a slow day our clients Mr. Clayton Storey who proposed to his new fiancee last evening (She said YES!) headed offshore and released 1 Sailfish and had some nice action with Amberjacks for a total of 4. Pictured below.
July 27th Brian Delphia headed out with our Captain Steve Curtis up North where the fishing has been very good as well but fell off a bit following the full moon. The current stopped and hasn't quite recovered yet, however Brian first brought in a nice 45 lb. Dorado, then jumped off a Blue Marlin and later in the day released a Sailfish. These were the biggest fish he ever caught, so he was stoked and had a great trip. July 23 The Jack Heller group headed out for their final day offshore and were very pleased to have released 4 Sailfish today where the day before July 22 they raised and released 1 Sailfish
July 13 Clients Bradley Conviser, David Day and Lee Dillingham after having tracked me down at the new Marina Pez Vela and very anxious to go fishing after reading the reports for last few days headed out with our crew hoping to have that same fishing as days past. They were quite pleased with the action after having 4 Amberjacks, 2 Red Snapper and released 2 Sailfish! Nice day for their last minute decision. July 12 Wes Schuler after returning 4 years later to Quepos headed out after such promising reports, however someone didn't feel so well when they got out to the fishing grounds so they made the decision to return. Sorry we didn't get a chance to see what they could do today.

We are busy readying the newest addition to the Quepos Fleet the Mad Marlin 32' Custom Sportfisher that will boast Quepos' top crew for the 2011 Fishing Season in Costa Rica
