Volunteers Sought for Puget Sound Fisheries Enhancement Committee

Applicants should be active within the recreational fishing community

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is soliciting recreational fishermen as volunteers to serve on a committee overseeing the Puget Sound Recreational Fisheries Enhancement program, which includes the production of blackmouth chinook salmon.

Applicants should be active within the recreational fishing community, with an understanding of salmon and bottomfish in Puget Sound, and be able to attend quarterly meetings to review projects and provide guidance on funding activities related to the enhancement program.

The program is responsible for restoring and enhancing angling in Puget Sound by ensuring the health of sustainable populations of salmon and bottomfish.

Ten volunteers will be appointed to serve a 2-year term beginning in January and expiring in December 2014. Since 2003 the 10-member Puget Sound Recreational Fisheries Enhancement Oversight Committee has advised WDFW director on fisheries enhancement programs
