Shark fin sellers in China laid thousands of fins on rooftops in early January, drawing criticism from just about everyone who doesn't eat shark fin soup.

Shark fin sellers in China laid thousands of fins on rooftops in early January, drawing criticism from just about everyone who doesn’t eat shark fin soup.

The freshly cut fins were seen covering the roof of an industrial building in Hong Kong, spotted by environmental advocate Gary Stokes.

Stokes, who took the first photos of the drying on Jan. 1, said “that the traders usually dried their fins on the sidewalks.”
