Poveromo fishes troops at GTMO

The fishing action - along with a look at GTMO - can be seen in January on ESPN2

George Poveromo - SWS  Editor-At-Large and ESPN2 fishing show host, spent a week with his MARC VI at the U.S. Naval Base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, fishing a number of active duty servicemen. The troops, members of Navy, Marine, Army, Air Force and National Guard units, are part of the U.S. Joint Task Force serving in Guantanamo.

Poveromo kept the teams busy fishing the offshore reefs, where everyone cashed in on a hot yellowtail bite; Several of the 'tails weighed between five- and six-pounds!  On the final morning of fishing, Poveromo and team fished the mouth of the Guantanamo River, where they scored a 20-pound snook.  In addition to the fishing, Poveromo conducted two clinics - one on bottom-fishing and the other on offshore trolling tactics.  The fishing action - along with a look at GTMO - can be seen in January on ESPN2, when George Poveromo's World of Saltwater Fishing kicks off its ninth year on the network.  For more information, visit: www.georgepoveromo.com
