Pirate's Cove Billfish Tournament starts today

Pirate’s Cove Big Game Tournaments invite anglers and visitors to attend the 25th Annual Pirate’s Cove Billfish Tournament, now underway through August 15th.  In 2007, competitors from North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, South Carolina, Florida and beyond enjoyed a $1,000,000 prize payout. For more information please log on to www.pcbiggame.com.

The one-of-a-kind Pirate’s Cove waterfront pavilion will be the site for national and regional sponsors who will have marine related merchandise on display and for sale during the event. Anglers are encouraged to enjoy the relaxing Outer Banks atmosphere while competing for the top spots and bragging rights.  Boat slips are limited so anglers are encouraged to register early.  Free off-site parking and shuttle service will be available at Manteo High School from 3:00pm – Midnight each day of the event.  Weigh station is open from 3:00pm – 8:00pm daily (except for Friday – 7:00pm) for spectators to view potential tournament winning catches.  Food and refreshments are available beginning at 6:00pm daily for a nominal fee.

Pirate’s Cove rests on a 600 acre private island bordered by the Roanoke Sound on one side and acres of protected marshland and wildlife preserve on the other. The facility includes residential homes, rental properties, a world-class marina and a clubhouse fully equipped with pool, tennis courts, saunas and hot tub.  Every home at Pirate’s Cove has 25′-55′ of private dock space.
