The Tarpon Anglers Club is pleased to announce the kickoff for the 2008 Miller High Life Professional Tarpon Tournament Series presented by Century Boats.

This year the show will be available in over 37 million households nationwide and in Canada.

The series kicks of this weekend with the exhibition Ladies Day Tarpon Tournament on Saturday, May 17.  The event will feature over 60 teams consisting of three lady anglers and a captain and mate competing for a purse  of $20,000 in cash and prizes. For the first time in the history of the PTTS, the Ladies Day Tournament will be filmed for broadcast as a one hour special during the holiday season of 2008.

“We were very happy when the networks agreed to give the ladies their own show this year.  These women love to compete as much if not more than the men, so we are confident it will make for a great tournament and television show” says Joe Mercurio, vice president of the Tarpon Anglers Club and on-air host of the televised tournaments.
