Lady Angler Challenges Light-Line Record in Panama

The 44-pound dorado is set to shatter the current IGFA 1 kg (2 lb) line class record

Angler Sherrell Carter of Duluth, Georgia, caught a dorado late last month that may set a new IGFA world record for women's 2-pound line class .

The 44-pound, 1-ounce fish was caught out of Tropic Star Lodge in Pinas Bay, Panama on August 25. The record dorado fell for a pitched ballyoo and was landed after a quick 5-minute fight.

Carter is no stranger to world records -- she currently holds the 2 kg (4 lb) line class record for dorado.

The curent 1 kg (2 lb) record dolphin is 40-pounds, 8-ounces.
