Bimini Big Game Club reborn

The famed Bimini Big Game Club, under new ownership, is scheduled to open its doors once again for the summer 2010 summer season. 
 
The BBGC, with 51 rooms and bungalows and a 75-slip marina, represents the first in a planned network of fishing and diving resorts to be developed by Guy Harvey Outpost Resorts. 
 
“After an exhaustive search through out the Bahamas and the Caribbean for our first property, we’ve returned to Bimini and the legendary home of modern-day sportfishing for our first project,” said marine scientist, conservationist and artist, Guy Harvey. “I personally am both honored and humbled to stand among the legendary figures of Bimini. Ours is an expedition to restore the Club’s reputation for incredible experiences and memorable fishing and diving vacations.”
 
The company expects to staff the property in the next 60 days, and begin what by the 2011 season will be a $3.5 million renovation. The will include a complete dive program , and on-site dive shop under the direction of Neal Watson Undersea Adventures.
