2nd Annual Dog Tags & Outlaw Flags Military Fishing Tournament to be held June 4th

Tournament will kick off at Ft. McAllister Marina in Richmond Hill, Georgia.

In the 1st Dog Tags & Outlaw Flags Military Appreciation Fishing Event, the members and friends of the Offshore Outlaws Fishing Club donated their fuel, tackle and time on over 40 boats to take more than 120 soldiers out for a free day of offshore fishing.

There is no registration fee to fish. All that is required is that you cover the costs of the fuel, bait and tackle. In return, you get the reward of taking as many troops as you can out for a day of offshore fishing. As you probably know, most these men (& women) have served multiple tours in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere to keep us safe. Many of these soldiers have never chance to offshore fish or even fish saltwater. What we take for granted is an experience of a lifetime for them.

There will be a green water and blue water division and all size boats are welcome. Prizes will be awarded in each division, but this really isn't about the competition. It's about taking these brave heroes for a great day of fishing and camaraderie. The weigh in format is the best way for them to show off their catch and give the captain/crew credit for their time and effort. Keep in mind,  We had a lot of troops weighing in barracuda and amberjack last time (and extremely proud of it!). PLEASE don't let the tournament format keep you from fishing for fear of being competitive; this is about them having fun.

There will be a Captains Meeting on Friday, June 3rd at the Ft. McAllister Marina. We will be hosting a free low country boil for all participants and the marina will not be charging overnight dockage for Friday night. The captains meeting is a little different than your normal event. All of the soldiers who have been selected to fish will be at the meeting and will be assigned to the boats they will fish on. They will meet their captains and crew where you will be introduced, can orient them to you boat and tell them what time you will be pushing off in the morning. There will be tons of give aways for the soldiers and the crews!

At the weigh in on Saturday, we will introduce every boat and team to come up and let the soldiers weigh in their fish. We give out trophies and prizes to all of the top finishers. Then stick around for the big after party with a live band.

We can't do this event without YOU and YOUR BOAT! This is your chance to show your support and appreciation for what these people do for us every day. If you only fish one event  this year, you will want it to be this one!
