Yamaha F200 Outboard

This inline, four-cylinder engine is thinner and weighs 489 pounds.

Yamaha Marine has taken a different tack with its new F200 outboard. Instead of a traditional V-6, it’s an in-line, four-cylinder engine that’s thinner and weighs 119 pounds less than its predecessor. At 489 pounds (25-inch model), it’s today’s lightest 200 hp four-stroke. The 2.8-liter outboard features a 16-valve dual-overhead-cam design with Yamaha’s Variable Camshaft Timing System for strong acceleration and midrange punch. The F200 also has a 50-amp alternator, a 13 percent boost in charging capacity over the V-6 F200. Available with either digital electronic or mechanical throttle-and-shift controls, the new outboard can be linked with NMEA 2000-compatible external displays, as well as analog gauges via an electronic gateway. It also features Yamaha’s Variable Trolling RPM Switch, which allows the user to set trolling rpm in 50 rpm increments.

Price: $17,895 MSRP
