Live-Bait Hook Stopper

live_bait.jpg

When I fish live bait, whether silversides or shrimp, I noticed that the movement of the bait up and down the shank of the hook seems to reduce the bait’s effectiveness and shorten its life. I put a small, rubber o-ring on the hook just after the bend, where I want the hook to stop passing through the bait. It keeps the bait from riding up the hook shank and seems to reduce wear and tear.
