If you've been thinkingabout adding a poling platform to your boat this season, but can'tafford the cost of a custom job, then a Sea Mount platform kitfrom C.L. Mattson may be just the ticket. These kits include thetop, legs, mounting brackets and most of the stainless-steel hardwareyou'll need to install the platform yourself. The legs and mounting brackets are made of sturdy, marine-grade aluminumor fiberglass, while the 24" by 36" aluminum top featuresplywood backing. Installation is fairly easy and requires basichousehold tools. Furthermore, the legs can be adjusted to fita variety of widths and heights. Numerous powder-coated finishesare available, including white, black, green, and blue. But thebest part is the price, which ranges from $400 for a basic transomkit (deck mounts also available) to $575 for a deluxe platform(shown) with toe bar and rod holders. C.L.
