Shakespeare's 5247 heavy-duty whip antenna features a "Lift-N-Lay" design that lets the owners of small fishing boats fold the antenna out of the way for casting, as well as covering and trailering the boat. The user simply lifts the whip until the hinged section is clear of the base, then bends the antenna at the integrated hinge to lay the antenna out of the way.
