Lowrance LMS-240 Sonar/GPS

01 12 2

The Lowrance LMS-240 Sonar/GPS offers a high-resolution LCD display and an advanced digital recording feature in a compact unit. The 5"-diagonal screen features cold-cathode backlighting and provides high contrast and detail levels, according to the manufacturer. The sonar unit delivers 3,000 watts of peak-to-peak power and depth penetration to 1,000', and uses a wide-angle, 200 kHz Skimmer transducer. The 12-parallel-channel GPS unit has built-in Wide Area Augmentation System (W.A.A.S.) capabilities to provide more precise readings. The navigation feature offers the versatility of full- or split-screen displays with a zoom feature. The LMS-240 accepts reusable Multi-Media Cards (MMC) to record and play back sonar graphs and GPS trip details, providing instant mapping memory to 64 MB, the only unit with such capability, according to Lowrance. The unit comes with a custom background map that depicts shorelines, coastal areas and more. The LMS-240 comes with a transducer and has a suggested retail price of $579.
