The GPSMAP 162 (sug. retail, $485) and GPSMAP 168 ($668) pack a boatload of features into a sleek unit that won’t eat up precious space. The 162 is a combination GPS receiver and chart plotter, while the 168 Sounder includes those same features plus the addition of a depthfinder. Both sport large four-level gray-scale screens and include a powerful 12-parallel-channel GPS receiver, tide-prediction tables, and built-in worldwide basemaps.
