Furuno has announced its first CHIRP sounder, the DFF1-UHD with TruEcho CHIRP, a professional-grade broadband sonar equipped with additional features. Bottom Discrimination Mode determines four bottom types: rocks, sand, gravel or mud. Accu-Fish provides the approximate size of the fish below your boat, identifying fish from four inches up to six feet long, in depths from seven to well over 300 feet of water. Other DFF1-UHD features include A-Scope and alarms for fish, particular depths or temperatures, and additional modes. A CHIRP transducer is required, and the DFF1-UHD supports a range of Airmar transducers. The DFF1-UHD connects to the NavNet TZtouch and NavNet 3-D MFD, or a NavNet-supported Ethernet network. Speed/temperature sensors are also available.
