Chef from Television’s “Hot Off the Grill” (Should Be) in Hot Water

Bobby Flay, host of cable television’s “Hot Off the Grill with Bobby Flay,” aired a program on the Food Network that featured a recipe for barbecued marlin. Atlantic marlin are protected under the Federal Billfish Management Plan and are considered game fish in many states. While recreationally caught billfish that adhere to size limits may be kept and consumed, marlin caught in the Atlantic cannot be retained, sold or transported for sale across state lines (see “Louisiana Grocery Stores Busted for Selling Marlin” in “Regional Newslines” last month).
