|| |—| || |The Southport 28 Center console stores rods galore.| The 28 Center Console from Southport Boat Works was designed to handle the weight of four-stroke outboard engines. Based on the Hunt4 hull technology by C. Raymond Hunt Associates, the new 28 reaches speeds of 53 miles per hour with twin 250-horsepower Yamaha four-stroke outboards.

Rigged to fish, the 28 has three gunwale-mount rod holders on each side, racks for ten rods under the gunwales, six more rod holders across the back of the standard canvas T-Top and additional in-console storage for eight more rods in vertical racks. Walk-through tuna doors flank rigging boxes and cutting boards in the transom. The cockpit deck holds a 38-gallon insulated fish box with macerator drain.
