Playmaker

The Sailfish 2660 CC is big on performance.

POWER TOOLS: Twin 150-horse-power four-strokes provide a splendid mix of acceleration and fuel economy, but the boat can run up to 600 horses. With safety reserve, range at cruise was 360 nautical miles.
LEVEL BEST: High-performance recessed trim tabs are standard—good to know when the brother-in-law is aboard and the center of gravity needs adjusting.
DEEP ‘PIT: High freeboard provides confidence when seas get snotty, and big drams clear the deck if a “greenie” comes aboard.
ROOM WITH A LOO: Although it’s probably destined for catch-all storage, the console can be orded with a head—a great selling point for the wife.
COLD STORAGE: Twin 225-quart insulated fishboxes in the bow keep the day’s catch iced down until cleaning time.
MAN THE POST: An optional leaning post includes a 35-gallon live well and tilt-out tackle station for convenient bait rigging.

Sailfish boats meets the hardcore challenges of anglers head-on with the brawny 2660 CC. This tried-and-true stepped hull tackles seas, sidelines the weatherman and lets you play when the mood—or the fish—strikes.

With a crew of three and 80 gallons of fuel onboard, our test boat topped out at 49.2 miles per hour. At 4,300 rpm, the twin Yamaha 150-horse four-strokes cruised at 34.8 miles per hour and sipped 15.1 gallons per hour. In a squall, we punched through the swells and landed softly.

How It Fished

|| |—| |Test Conditions Dog Island, Florida Partly Cloudy 73° Winds: 10-15 mph southeast Seas: light chop Target: kingfish| The 2660 CC tracks well while trolling and is stable during drifts. Red tide had chased the kings to the far corners of the Gulf, but the forward deck and wide walkways around the console gave us plenty of room to catch bait on Sabiki rigs—a good sign for when the tourney is on the line.
