|| |—| || |The Hatteras 68 Convertible has an expansive cockpit.| The hull of the improved, enhanced Hatteras 68 Convertible features a variable-deadrise design that flows from approximately 20 degrees at midship to a nearly flat two degrees at the transom. Double chines help to knock down spray and hull tunnels reduce draft. Twin 1550-horsepower Caterpillar C30 diesels are the standard power for this hull.

With a monstrous beam of 21 feet, six inches, the 68 Convertible offers more cockpit and interior space than previous models. The cockpit is ready to fish and has mezzanine-level seating. Storage includes a bait freezer, insulated bait tubs, tackle drawers and insulated drink storage that assemble modularly to allow for a customized cockpit setup.

The fully equipped galley is located forward of the seating area and has plenty of stowage. Across from the galley is a large, U-shaped dinette with drawers beneath. The area also includes a handy computer workstation.

The spacious bridge offers wrap-around seating forward of the console along with a deep freezer and insulated chill box for drinks. A pod-style helm with single-lever controls and emergency back-up controls is standard. Classic helm seating is provided by two Murray chairs.
