Video: Covering A Shoreline
by John Brownlee

Twice a month, Salt Water Sportsman will post a new video blog from Editor in Chief John Brownlee.

The vids center around useful tactics, techniques, and tips relating to saltwater fishing.

You can see all the videos in one place at Salt Water Sportsman's video page.

In this post, Brownlee covers the proper way to cover a shoreline when fishing from a boat. The fish hang in certain areas, including sandy holes, grass edges and underneath overhangs. One mistake is to think the fish are always tight against the shoreline edge.

I like to work at a maximum angle of 15 degrees to the shoreline. Most of the time I will be no more than 5 feet out. Find that this keeps the lure in the strike zone longer. Also, it is easier to work a fish out of the Mangroves with a low angle.ions
