After sight-casting to redfish in the Biloxi, Mississippi, marsh, Captain Sonny Schindler (www.shorethingcharters.com) opted to keep a couple slot fish for dinner. Once Schindler filleted the fish, he commenced a fish-cleaning ritual. "We always try to check the fish bellies at the cleaning table for a little CSI fishing info," Schindler said. The first fish yielded no surprises: shrimp and minnows. But the second drum had an intact baby nutria rat in its belly. "I was a little taken by the whole thing, but it must have been something to watch the little fella get eaten," Schindler said. "You can image the ideas my fellow captains are coming up with for new (redfish) baits."
