Fly and Fish Costa Rica

Dorado, Sails and Saltwater Sportsman Mag. Fish Babe... Thx!

First we would like to thank all of you for voting for our own team member Shauntele Who has won the Saltwater Sportsman Magazine fish babe for the month of March. She certainly could not have done it with out you!
The last couple of weeks have been mostly sunny and really nice. The classic weather pattern is playing out for this time with 3 o'clock showers that last a few hours. It seems that inshore the rain water and river run-off along with strong tides have agitated large schools of sardines to move along the beach some schools I witnesses as big as 50 yards end to end. Obviously, the inshore bite has followed with several rooster caught south of los Suenos. Meanwhile, offshore the water has cooled a little and a steady current is in place. Out of the boats that have gone out this past week not one of them came back with less than 5 sailfish releases and one had up to 9 sailfish released. Likewise the Dorado have been out in full force producing a great bite. One of our fleet boats caught 9 cows and had a bull up to 35 pounds. With the Dorado running the Marlin have not been strangers either with one of the boats releasing a nice blue. As well as several others raised but not committing to the drop back bait. The yellow fin are around but not yet in solid numbers however one of the boats did boat a nice one yesterday. We certainly look forward to a solid Tuna run over the next two months.
