Anchor Stuck?

anchor.jpg

I lost an anchor sometime ago after it got stuck on the bottom. I tried everythingto dislodge it, ultimately to no avail. I have since purchaseda replacement, but to ensure I don’t repeat my luck, I’ve modifiedthe new one. I drilled a 3/8″ hole in the foot of the anchor, and attached a galvanized shackle. I tied a 50-foot length ofline to the shackle (use any length you need), and attached afloat with my boat’s name and hull number to the rope’s otherend. Now, if my anchor gets stuck, I need only release the mainanchor line and pull on the float’s line to free the anchor.
